Uses of Bevatas Tablet


Bevatas 100mg/4ml injection is an antineoplastic drug which is indicated for the treatment, prevention, control and recovering from following diseases:

  • Metastatic colorectal  cancer (mCRC)

  • Non – squamous non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

  • Giloblastoma

  • Metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC)

  • Persistent,recurrent or metastatic carcinoma of the cervix

  • Platinum – Resisitant Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian, Fallopian Tube or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

 

Side effects of Bevatas Tablet


Bevatas 100mg/4ml injection using in patients will occur possible side effects. Some of them may be rare but serious.

Common side effects

  • Clotting of blood

  • Epistaxis

  • Gastrointestinal perforation

  • Head pain

  • Hypertension

  • Strange tasting

  • Peeling skin

  • Rectal bleeding

Some serious side effect, If this symptoms occur immediately call the doctor.

  • Fever, chills, constipation & vomiting

  • Swollen gums, painful mouth sores, cold or flu symptoms

  • Missed menstrual periods

  • Sign of bleeding in your digestive tract – severe stomach pain, black stools, cough up blood

How to use Bevatas Tablet


 Metastatic colorectal  cancer (mCRC) : Bevatas recommended dose, given as an IV infusion, is as follows: First-line Treatment: 5 mg/kg of body weight once every 2 weeks or 7.5 mg/kg of body weight given once every 3 weeks.

 Second-line Treatment: 10 mg/kg of body weight for every 2 weeks or 15 mg/kg of body weight for once every 3 weeks.

Bevatas injection treatment recommended to be continued until progression of the underlying disease.

Non – squamous non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC): Bevatas injection prescribed dose is 10 mg/kg of body weight administer for once every 2 weeks or 15 mg/kg of body weight once every 3 weeks administer  IV infusion.

Bevatas injection treatment recommended to be continued until progression of the underlying disease.

Giloblastoma: Bevatas injection recommended dose is 10 mg/kg of body weight given once every 2 weeks or 15 mg/kg of body weight given once every 3 weeks administer an IV infusion.

Kidney cancer: Bevatas injection dose is 10 mg/kg of body weight for once every 2 weeks administer  intervenous infusion.

Persistent,recurrent or metastatic carcinoma of the cervix: Bevatas injection in combination with paclitaxel and cisplatin or paclitaxel and topotecan: 15 mg/kg IV every 3 weeks

Platinum – Resisitant Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian, Fallopian Tube Or Primary Peritoneal Cancer: Bevatas injection in combination with topotecan  dose is 15 mg/kg of body weight for once every 3 weeks  administer IV infusion.

Administration of Bevatas

Bevatas injection administrated as an intravenous infusion

1st infusion: over 90minutes

Subsequent infusion: If first infusion tolerated administer over 60 minutes and If second infusion over 60minutes is tolerated then administer subsequent infusion  over 30minutes.

Overdose: If high dose in human was associated with headache in 9 to 16 patients and severe headache in three of 16 patients.

How to Bevatas Tablet works:


Bevatas 100mg/4ml injection is a type of class of anti angiogensis drugs and monoclonal antibody.

Mechanism of Bevatas 100mg/4ml injection by inhibiting the process of angiogenesis by aiming and preventing human vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). 

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a small protein released by cells that have specific effects on the behavior of cells ( cytokine) that will binds with its receptors in the cell cause to new blood vessel formation or angiogenesis.

Distribution: volume of distribution 2.9 (22%)

Elimination: adults 20days (11 to 50 days),

Pediatric patient (age 1 to 21 yrs); median 11.8 days

Intravitreal : 5 to 10 days

Expert Advice for Bevatas Tablets


  • Inform the doctor or pharmacist about allergic condition against Bevatas injection if you had, fluorouracil (Adrucil, 5-FU), any another regimens, or any of the compound  in Bevatas injection

  • You have been previously taking or ever had DPD (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase)  deficiency of enzyme .  Inform the doctor about this then your doctor may preferably inform you avoid taking Bevatas injection.

  • Inform the doctor that you have or have ever had renal, hepatic, or cardiac problem

  • Inform the doctor that are you pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Avoid planning to have children while on treatment with Bevatas. You should use a essential method of  conceiving to prevent pregnancy in yourself or your partner during your treatment with Bevatas injection The  drug will harm the fetus.

  • Avoid breast feeding while on treatment with Bevatas 100mg/4ml injection.

Alcohol


Alcohol interaction with Bevatas 100mg/ 4ml injection is unknown. Please consult the doctor

Pregnancy


Category D: while administrating Bevatas 100mg/ 4ml injection in pregnant women, positive evidence on fetal risk depends on human studies but potential benefits by using the drug may have common risk against fetus.

Lactation


Bevatas 100mg/ 4ml injection is excreted into breast milk taking account on this, discussion should done on whether to discontinue the breast feeding or the drug. While using the drug is unsafe during breast feeding to their infants.

Driving


Bevatas 100mg/ 4ml injection will affect the ability of driving due to its side effects like drowsy, dizzy, or lightheadedness or fainting, blurred vision. Avoid driving unless you feeling well.



Kidney


Bevatas 100mg/ 4ml injection using in patients with kidney disease is probably safe. Limited information available which dose adjustment may not be required. Please consult the doctor.

Liver

Missed Dosage


If any doses missed by you, administer the dose as soon as possible you remember, If it is near to next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular schedule.
